Curve Nevada is a new entry into the apparel trade show market being less than one year old?and unlike many decided to target a smaller niche of manufacturers in the fashion lingerie and fine?intimate apparel?market.

CurveNV is brought to you by two apparel industry veterans Jean-Luc Teinturier and Laurence Teinturier, because they felt that it was a niche that was being underserved especially?as a presence west of the mississippi closer to home with a more professional environment.

You can expect to see brands like DKNY underwear, Vera Wang, and Hanky Panky. After doing a little research on the owners of the show they have a very extensive background in the apparel trade show industry. Marketing and managing such shows as Premier Vision, PreView NY, and Lingerie Americas. So they have the background and if any of you attend let me know if they can deliver. Hey so far so good from the description. JellyFiz is definitely not the first of its kind at least to my knowledge. I have received at least two other emails from companies online claiming they offer the same as above, but their was something about the approach that JellyFiz took in the email that got me excited and they didn’t come off as brash or like I owed it to them. They simply wanted my opinion and to let me know about their service.

Basically it is a system that?will combine all the activities?in one multi-function?application that aids an apparel manufacturer in product planning, maintaining stock and inventory, customer/store tracking, and purchasing equipment. Just-Style?is a online apparel industry news website that offers insight into the happenings of the industry. Mostly with the larger sector of the apparel industry, but they still give a good bit on financial state and future sales?trends. Only thing that turned my cheek about the website is that they offer you a little free?bait for the bite?and put the money on the end…you get a summary free and pay for full disclosure.

Not that their is anything wrong with that, because most sites charge for better information. Free is the direction in which the Online world is headed. Look at all the most heavily trafficked sites Youtube, Myspace, and Facebook.?All are free, but make more money than the subscription based mediums.

Most are surprised that 98% of the information on Dobizo is free other than the Ceo Audio. I often get emails from people surprised or looking for the premium registration fee or subscription charge.

I’m pretty sure you are all familiar with PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals)?the animal rights protection group that have attacked many and plenty of clothing companies for using real fur in their clothing production. Including Sean John and Rocawear who were both accused for using dog fur on their men’s hooded jackets.

Well this case is a little different, but I thought it was very interesting considering Nike dropped suspend?Michael “Mike” Vicks entire product line that they were offering for the 2007 seasons after he was accused of dog fighting. This include shoes, jersey’s, and any other Nike/Vick product without pay of course.

I wonder is Nike really trying to punish him for his involvement in animal cruelty/dog fighting or are they just worrying about the wrath of the PETA group for associating such a well known brand with this kind of animal cruelty in exchange for a little promotional power from Michael Vick’s NFL fame?

Yeah the headline title was before the Calvin Klein we knew today that record was set back in the early 70’s. Calvin used a provocative advertisement by Brooke Shields that read “Nothing Comes Between Me and My Calvins”.

With the financial ($10,000)?help of his childhood friend Barry Schwartz Calvin Klein set out to develop what was then a coat shop in the York hotel Calvin Klein Ltd. From their Calvin Klein had the kind of success you would only think to see in fairy tales. Retailer Bonwit Teller sent a merchandiser out to his showroom and within a week purchased $50,000 worth of merchandise from Calvin’s clothing company, also displaying eight of their samples in their window…talk about time and luck.

From their Calvin went own to develop his signature sportswear line and went on to later design the tight fitting jeans that would soon sell 40,000 pairs per week simultaneously launching him into fashion designer/celebrity status in the apparel design industry. Calvin Klein?was also the first designer to receive outstanding design in men’s and women’s wear from CFDA award show in?the same?year.

CFDA will be hosting the new members reception today and is also celebrating the most applications ever submitted in the companies 40 year history.

Only thirty were selected out of the bunch and one of the designers was Michael Ball of?denim brand Rock & Replublic that is available in better boutiques worldwide in 86 countries and has expanded to include eyewear, handbags, shoes and a tailored collection of ready-to-wear garments. Rock & Republic?launched in 2002 and in four?&?a?half years transformed itself into a powerhouse in the fashion industry and the CFDA induction will just add more to their list of accomplishments.?
