Cinnamon Roll Gang Bag
I had to write about this bag accessories company after seeing nothing more than a picture and hearing the name…it just stands out! Cinnamon Roll Gang

The bags are so different I really couldn’t classify them into one category of clothing accessories, because I can truly say I could see everyone from the street wear womens culture to high fashion taking a liking to some of what Cinnamon Roll Gang has to offer I’m not to fond of the name, but it is different.

Their designs are based around dolls that are created from strap fabrics into bags that take on a doll like appearance, but are very colorful with an collage effect pieced together with vintage materials. Their prices aren’t bad at all either with most bags ranging from $20 -$70. Visit their online store and take a look at what they have to offer.

Daily Definition of Crock

Posted by: Fashion06 in Daily Definition |

This is a very short definition used within textiles and dyeing fabrics. Usually caused by badly dyed fabric. Basically describes how dye rubs off on skin or other fabrics when they come in contact usually as a result of incomplete penetration of the dye into the fabric. I’m pretty sure your pants have destroyed your shoes from the dye rubbing off onto the tongue.

This is another Dobizo Question and Answer session from a readers question posted on the Dobizo Answer aka FAQ page. This question also sparked an idea in my mind for a good series of articles explaining the role of each position within the apparel industry. If you work in the apparel industry in a specific role I would love to interview you and have you write a guest post email fred@dobizo.com with your position in the apparel industry and contact information.
JOSE ESTELA Asks:

“HELLO I HAVE QUESTION I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THE ANSWER HERE BUT CANNOT FIND IT. WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A PATTERN MAKER AND WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM AND A SAMPLE MAKER I?M ALITTLE CONFUSED WONDER IF I NEED BOTH OR JUST ONE THANKS HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU”

Great question Jose and I did a quick check with the search tool and found a couple of articles with pattern and sample makers within the context, but none exclusively on the subject of either/or.

This is the weekly forum wrap up, which is when I post the good, the bad, and the ugly from the Global Fashion Network Industry forum. If you would like to be part of the Global Fashion Network Industry Forum than join here today.

Magic Online Apparel Trade Show

I wonder if this will lower the price on booths and admission so exhibitors can get more bang for their buck? If not than I really see nothing to get excited about.

Fred Stollmack, president of Weatherproof Garment Co is pressing MAGIC International to decrease the number of days in the Las Vegas apparel trade show from 4 to 3 and if they keep at it MAGIC just might make that change, being that they’re already considering it.

Vice president of MAGIC Christopher McCabe says there will be questioning in the form of feedback from multiple vendors and manufacturers before any concrete decision is made, because pleasing the majority is the solution.

Izod Arena Mock-Up

If you remember the article earlier this month about Jay Z’s Rocawear brand losing out on naming the New Jersey Nets Airline Arena after his clothing brand, than you will know the reason for the article title.

PVH (Parent Company of Izod) sees this as a chance for a multi-faceted marketing effort across its whole brand channel, not just Izod. Brands under PVH include Calvin Klein, Izod, Van Heusen, and Arrow. The renaming of the arena and the debut of the change will be this Wednesday Halloween also to kick off the season for the New Jersey Nets basketball team.

This is definitely a major branding effort that Rocawear missed out on. According to PVH they have many things in store for the branding efforts of the Izod brand for the new Izod arena that include logo staff member attire, branded cups, seats, scoreboards, pillars, elevators, way-finding signs, and much more.

Jeans made by Levi Strauss before 1971 where the “E” on the LEVI tab was a capital letter opposed to the tab on today’s jeans. (I checked a pair and it is true) Below are pictures of both:

Big E tab:
Levi Red Tab Big E

Current Tab:
Current Levi's Red Tab

I’m not sure if it was a mistake by Levi and consumers caught on to it and branded them the Big E jeans or what, but nonetheless I thought it was interesting.
