Well if I should be honest, the new design looks more like a gaming/gamer-clan page then a fashion site…Your actual design is also not the best choice for your genre, but I think it’s better than the new one…
If you like I can give you the contact of a very good / award winning graphic designer, who is a good friend of mine, and he can give you a better sugestion for sure???

Thanks, but I actually like the design. Also this is not a glitz, glamour fashion site…like style or wwd. This is more about getting down to the industry side of the fashion industry. So that is why its not bright and colorful like what you would expect from a fashion site.

I know this is site for fashion industry, and what I expect isn’t a crazy colorful site, your site is enough colorful at the moment :)… What I think is a cleaner design, maybe not with this big blue area in the top, not this big categories/navigation box in the right.. Your site is providing news and infos, and that’s the first thing users should see when they come on your site… But what they see is big flashing boxes on the top..I don’t want to judge you, cause you do a great jobs… just want to give you some ideas out of an other sight..
Keep on going what you do, you’re on the right way
