Serious about starting a clothing line? If so subscribe to our RSS feed or Email notifications for exclusive articles/updates that you don't want to miss!

One of the most popular pages on Dobizo is the Industry Page, but in all honestly it could be much much better with a little tweaking and a better layout.

With the help of our readers we can make it the best apparel industry link page possible by submitting your business or any other apparel industry related company for the industry link directory.

Why Should You?

Because Dobizo will be giving away a week of free advertising and a company profile on the Dobizo blog to the user that submits the most apparel industry related company’s by March 10 that will be exactly two weeks from today. Plus the actual search of these companies will help many of you looking for suppliers.

If you submit a company make sure and use the same email address for every submission or it will count as two separate entries for two different contestants!

I know many of you designer-entrepreneurs are in the business of selling clothing. The key to selling is target marketing and creating brand awareness. I for one like to kill two birds with one stone whenever I can.

Nobody can buy your product if they don’t know it exist and nowhere does that stick more than on the internet.

Today I will give all Dobizo readers a chance to access all our readers and search traffic by doing us a favor.

The little thing we started and launched to the public four weeks ago has over 1,000 members… :) Global Fashion Network. By the way if you haven’t joined you will need to in order to participate in the competition by the way it’s free.

We recently added many features to the Network including the Youtube video feature, which makes it easier for users to stream videos from our website. Well as of now we have about 15-20 videos. With the new Youtube script it takes less than 10 seconds to upload a video by placing a simple url of the video and clicking upload…exposure doesn’t get any easier.

I always noticed that when I had some kind of structure or plan for the week that I got more work done and it flowed more smoothly.

Otherwise I would sit at the computer for hours doing work that I?could’ve broken down into minutes or?an hour. I think a lot of the procrastination was because I was overwhelmed with such a huge workload and really didn’t know where to begin.

If you feel yourself in this same boat then you should definitely shut off your computer get a pen or pencil and make a plan….no not a business plan but a weekly goal oriented plan.

I guarantee that if many of us would just sit down and think about what it is that we really want out of our clothing?business and how we are going to get there then there would be no need for the question “Where do I start” if you have a plan you know exactly where to start and how to finish. It differs from one person to the next depending on your unique situation and the obstacles you face.

I know we all like Free exposure and for some of your clothing or fashion industry companies that equals sales. Sales equal revenue and revenue equals profits and that’s money in your pockets. ;)

Well that is just what you will get in this contest we are going to run on How to start a clothing line from scratch. The name of the contest is “If you scratch my back, I will scratch yours” Clever huh? :)

First of all it is simple and free for any of you to participate. All it will take at the most is three minutes of your time and that is only if you type slow.

Ever heard of BET?(Black Entertainment Television)? If not it is a leading source for entertainment, music, and news targeted towards African Americans. They have a new show called The 5ive?which is a show that highlights innovational, new, unique,?or?things everyone needs to know about?on and off the web.

Some of the?5iveare handpicked by editors at BET or you can submit what you think?needs to be on the 5ive.?

First off I will donate my earnings to a charity…read the post for the reasons why.

I was reading over some previous articles and came across an article on generating traffic for your new clothing website and they mentioned promoting on a community called Digg. If your not familiar with Digg…it is a site where you submit articles and they are voted on by a community and promoted in rankings. It can definitely generate traffic to your clothingsite if anybody would actually vote on any of the clothing websites. Most of the front page, second, or even 9th page articles are about Apple, Ipods, Computers, and I seen an article about a whale exploding. Never have I seen a fashion site close to the front page (maybe I missed it).

I’m going to submit this article too digg and let’s see if we can get this article to the front page. I’m guessing most digg users are web-savvy, internet junkies (like myself), but do they still have some kind of sense of fashion and interest in the industry as a whole. Maybe if we break the chain it will open up doors and create a different lane of exposure for sites that are not tech related or about apple computer.
