Christian Audigier owner of vintage tattoo inspired clothing label Ed Hardy was the former designer for the once popular Von Dutch brand and was responsible for the trucker hat that covered the head of every celebrity at one time. Christian Audigier is being sued for unfair competition and punity damages for starting another clothing brand Ed Hardy with similar products. Christian Audigier has a pretty impressive resume in the fashion industry as a teen and beyond. Besides owning and operating the once very popular Ed Hardy clothing company he is also the owner of his upscale clothing line Christian Audigier, and rock n roll inspired line SMET whose tagline is “born on the streets”, but also received awards as a teen designer for Guess, Levi, Diesel, amongst other leading brand names. For more info on the Ed Hardy clothing line or Christian Audigier check out their websites.

I don’t know if you noticed, but the old retro colorful non-matching 80’s look is back and some are even building reputable lines off of them. Think about Parish Nation Clothing they are definitely taking off with great stride since launching at the Magic trade show. Their line is based off of retro looks and colorful prints on bright fabrics….I have to say it’s not that bad of a look. I’ve been noticed the trend coming strong especially with the popular re-introduction of slim fitting track jackets last year…all they need now is the 80’s colors, based around the retro 80’s culture incorporated into the fashion designs. Plus many of trend reporting sites and magazines have pretty much confirmed it. I’m pretty sure this year you will see many lines jumping on this trend and adapting to take advantage of the retro 80’s wave. I see new clothing lines developing around the retro culture and it will become saturated very fast.
Mark my words
Do any of you guys see this trend or am I losing it?

I’m almost a 100% sure that the owner of Lrg clothing company Jonas Bevacqua is adopted. Plus it has been said by his partner in crime Ben baller in interviews and in online forums. He is Vietnamese, but is said to have an Italian name because he was raised by an Italian family. I don’t know much more on the background of the co founder except for before launching Lrg clothing company with his partner Robert Wright he worked a regular 9-5 job at Jcpenney’s and as a valet car person in California. Here is a clip below of Jonas Bevacqua below leaving us all with a few choice words hilarious…all in fun!:

Marc Ecko founder of rhino charged clothing company Ecko Unltd also has a better menswear line called Marc Ecko Cut & Sew that many of you may or may not be familiar with. When the line debuted in Bloomingdale and Macy’s in 2005 (Don’t hold me to that date
) it didn’t share the same success that the more loose fitting urban clothing giant Ecko Unltd has had for the last 14 years. Most of the collection was pulled from the shelf. I see some pieces have been showing up in stores nationwide now, but the success of the line as a whole has yet too be determined. For more info from Marc Ecko Cut & Sew check out Drjays.com.

In 1992 Daymond John begin working on what is now known to the world as urban clothing giant Fubu and took out a $100,000 second mortgage on his home (He was living with his mother) for production and living space for his three partners Keith Perrin, J. Alexander, and Carl Brown. At the time he was working as a waiter and almost lost his home to the mortgage that he used too finance the urban/hip hop clothing line with. Fubu was financed by Samsung which at that time was the 10th largest company in the world. Rumor has it that rapper LL Cool J was a silent investor in the popular urban clothing brand. Little known fact is that Fubu is still growing strong overseas, because they just opened their 60th have over 70 Fubu Clothing Collection store. I think they actually set the pace for defining the urban/hip hop clothing market, which now seems too be transforming into street wear brands due too their new found uprise in popularity.
