The Accessories Council is a non-profit organization that sparks consumer awareness and demand for fashion accessory industry.

Last Monday November 12, 2007 the Ace Awards were held at Cipriani on 42nd Street to honor those who have furthered the awareness and use of accessories. Retailers, designers, and celebrities gathered for the Ace Awards where retailers such as Terry Lundgren was awarded “Retailer of the Year” and he gave thanks to Jessica Simpson for setting his show sales on fire…so to speak.

The Accessories Council also sponsors and host educational seminars, networking events, seasonal trend reports, marketing & advertising co-op initiatives, design & marketing awards for area fashion students, and much more.

This is a trade show 100% dedicated to the baby & children’s products sector of the apparel industry.

The fair is located so that buyers can do one-stop shopping within Shanghai where it is co-located with fashion accessories China Sourcing Fair.

This trade show is for the trade only! Meaning you must be part of some retail, manufacturing or business within the fashion industry. Exhibitors in attendance are not as broad in scope as most shows considering this one in particular caters to baby and children’s products. Most are China or Asian suppliers that are competitors and also supply to many international brands already.

The next China Sourcing Fair will be held on December 12-14, 2007 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Shanghai, China.

This is probably the only trade show I will write about and it has this kind of story behind it. Well basically I thought I copied and pasted a link to a trade show, but incidentally I copied the three words “clothes show live” and since I’m using Firefox it took me to www.clothesshowlive.com and that is how I found out about this celebrity filled, star studded trade show in this coming December.

Clothes Show Live breaks down exhibitors into different zones as follows-

• Blue Zone- which is high street chic and one-off vintage pieces. For example names like Juicy Couture, or Paul Frank ring a bell
• Purple Zone- is more for the urban streetwear shopper. Brands include TopShop, Illustrated People and Lazy Oaf
• Pink Zone- is a mix of the latest in beauty products from top names such as Maybelline New York, Bourjois, Rimmel London, and Fake Bake
• Black Zone- this is for the fashion conscience and is dedicated to the evergrowing trend of eco-friendly and ethical fashion

Bangladesh Apparel & Textile Exposition (BATEXPO) is the annual trade show of the Bangladesh’s garment industry and one of the largest apparel expositions in the Asia-Pacific.

I think this trade show would be more attractive to anyone who would do most of their retail business within Bangladesh…because I mean who in America would want “Made in Bangladesh” on the tag of most of their garments. Especially with consumers now being more aware and conscious of where clothing they purchase originated and the “Made in USA” label is more attractive and being that is what this show promotes garments that bare the “Made in Bangladesh” tag.

At this edition of BATEXPO the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest, will inaugurate the BATEXPO’2007 at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon in Dhaka.

Exhibitors will be showing ready made and knitted wear, textile, yarns, accessories and auxiliary materials for tailoring, Companies offering services, software and equipment.

The next show date is on November 15-17, 2007 at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon, in Dhaka, Dhaka Bangladesh.

Bali Fashion Week is an international event aimed at promoting the textile Industry, garments, accessories, handbags, shoes and jewelery to the world in order to help the Indonesian government in economic development and growth.

Bali Fashion Week is a mix of art and fashion where they collide for an event filled with street carnivals and fashion shows by international designers. Awards for best design will be announced at the end of street carnivals.

Lingerie De Moda is one of the top shows for the lingerie industry in Brazil with fashion shows and top fashion industry contenders being part of the friendly-business professional atmosphere.

More than 400 brands gather at the Lingerie De Moda Brazil to showcase lingerie including: sleepwear, underwear, daywear, swimwear, beachwear, loungewear, hosiery, men’s underwear, fantasy wear, bras, panties, camisoles and any apparel connected to the intimate industry.

There will be fashion shows held twice a day with top models in the industry displaying lingerie brands wears.

Not much information was available about the Fashion & Textile Kenya Trade Show. Other than that it is a garments and textiles trade show presented in a runway fixture where they mix business with pleasure it is a more enjoyable and lively atmosphere than most down to business trade shows.

You can expect a good mix of manufacturers and suppliers from classic, small leather goods, handbags and briefcases, fashionable handbags, footwear, travel ware, leather garments, fashion accessories and lifestyle products, impressed participants with its range of products, innovative design ideas, and information on upcoming color and materials trends will be participating in the event.

The next show is on November 18-21, 2007 at the Kenyatta International Conference Center, in Nairobi, Kenya.

You wouldn’t really associate Orlando and international together or at least that is what first came to my mind when reading about the Orlando Fashion Week, which is an event that promotes the Textile Industry, Garments, Accessories, Handbags, Shoes and Jewelery to the World.

They have a wide range of visitors from apparel distributors, licensees, importers / wholesalers, fashion professionals, brand name manufacturers, merchandisers, retailers, corporate buyers, media & other related professionals & general public are the target visitors.

Buyers in attendance will have plenty of brands to choose from in the children’s, womens, and menswear market. The event will be held in the Holiday Inn in Orlando, Florida on November 15-18, 2007.

If you couldn’t tell by the name furs of Russia is an exhibition catering to fur retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers (fur farms) and more.

Furs of Russia is the country’s premier and most international trade show for sourcing the full range of this apparel sector requirements (furs). During the exhibition their will be many fashion shows going on within the framework of the fair.

Exposure is at your fingertips because the trade fair is intensively advertised within mass media including television, radio, press releases, and by means of street advertising. Exhibitors in attendance will be providing ready made garments, head wear, accessories of furs and leather, raw materials, semi-finished products, and equipment for the fur industry.

The next Furs of Russia will be held on November 15-18 in Moscow, Russia at the Manezh Exhibition Centre.

You don’t here of too many trade shows within the notions category, but Fatex caters to the textiles and notions industry. With over 350 exhibitors from different sectors of the fashion and home textile industries:

• manufacturers : sub-contractors, co-contractors, finishers, embroiderers, knitters and more
• supplies : button, shoulder-pad, label, shirt front and more
• technology : DAO,GPAO, pattern, pattern grading software, cutting, and system
• services : Institutional Groupment, logistics, network relationship

The trade show has an international appeal with visitors ranging from France, China, Hong Kong to Madagascar and is open to all industrial industries of the world. The next show date is scheduled for November 6-8, 2007 at Paris Nord Villepinte.

Fall Bridal Spectacular is an event for fashion designers and manufacturers within the bridal and formal wear industry to learn and will throw up opportunities for designers & craftsmen to share ideas. Also to further develop possibilities of trade in the subcontinent.

The Fall Bridal Spectacular will consist of two runway shows featuring couture and full service bridal salons and local vendors.

DETMAG is a kids fashion and accessories paradise for any retail store buyer or parent. This is an event organized for everything about kids fashion and lifestyle. They combine Fashion, leisure time, sport and hobby, and food all in one trade show.

Experts within the industry meet and discuss ideas, share their achievements and meet representatives from different categories of the children’s audience.

From the description I’m not sure if it is more business or pleasure, but it does consist Interactive FUN, free family activities & entertainment, combined with professional tips and advice from support groups, as well as hands-on displays and demonstrations, competitions, prize drawings, special guest appearances and attractions that will amuse kids of all ages….so I guess it is safe to say it is not a trade only event .

The next show is October 30-November 4, at the International Fair Plovdiv.
