e-five-design.png?

eFive Design was one of the readers who?participated in our contest on BET The5ive showcase. There were two prizes either you win all 6 Ceo Audios or a write up about your company as long as it is related to fashion. If you would like to enter the contest is still alive.

E-Five Design is a company with a meaning that represents what the brand embodies. The E?stands for?words used to describe their featured designs exquisite, extraordinary, elegant, edgy, exotic.?The Five stands for the five essential elements of art, which are line, shape, value, texture, and color.

I have to say their site is just as well designed as their collection of jewelry, accessories, home decor, and artwork. Designer Candy Woolley is the creative designer behind the E-Five Design studio located in south?Florida where all the pieces from the collection are handcrafted. Over the years she?has one?awards and was one of the finalist in the Glam?& Marie Claire contest for handbag designers held?this?year.?

saint-grace-clothing.png

Saint Grace?clothing was featured on one of the random online magazines I usually read Entrepreneur or CNN Money….it’s CNN Fortune. The interview and video spoke about his financing troubles from not planning ahead with the business and the expectation of so much growth to the tune of $4 million + a year. Mr. Thompson talked about how he didn’t, but should’ve wrote a business plan and he most likely would have avoided all the problems he is facing now with further?financing for?his apparel?venture.

Saint Grace clothing provides women’s clothing that is available on and off the web in some of the?better boutiques and department stores over 500+ so far. Their product ranges from skirts, dresses, tanks, shorts, halter tops,?twill trousers and cropped leggings. Saint Grace clothing makes for a solid line of better women’s apparel and with $4 million plus in sales their definitely doing something right. They will also be exhibiting at the Designer & Agents show that we spoke about earlier last week.

edoc-laundry-logo.png

Edoc Laundry?is a clothing company that connects the street/skate culture into innovative designed clothing that crosses the boundaries of design to include messages in clothing that really leave you thinking.

First let me tell you a little more about how I?became familiar with Edoc Laundry. I met the owner of Edoc Laundry while attending an AAE show?in Atlanta, Ga and we became acquainted while talking about different clothing lines and their lack of creativity while designing. He spoke about how his clothing line is bringing something to the table that no other clothing company?is really doing at the time…yep I heard it all before, but he genuinely has a unique aspect about?Edoc Laundry that I have yet to see in any other fashion line.

Within each garments design lays hints to a secret that will tell you parts of the story of Edoc Laundry. No it’s just written on the tag, but actually inside the print or embroidery or woven labels and you actually have to think to put the clues together. Once you have the clues together take the code and put them in on the website and unlock the mystery behind Edocs Laundry.

x-fit-logo.jpg

X-Fit athletic wear is one of the only stylish athletic wear companies I have seen to date. They make use of the overused “Exclusive” tag and their prices reflect the limited edition garments. X-Fit is actually by a music video director Little X, which I usually don’t feature clothing companies by celebrities, rappers, or people who pretty much already have money. X-Fit was different to me, because the?director actually played a big role in?the direction of the company and is actually coming at the fashion?industry from a different angle.?I guess he took time to look at the industry and instead of just throwing his name on a t-shirt and developing an urban line he actually went in a whole other direction and might stand a chance at producing garments that might stand the test of time.

X-Fit makes use of Ice-Wik wicking?technology in its garments. Ice Wick?is a signature moisture management system that wicks perspiration away from your skin to the outer layer of the of the garment. Helping your body to regulate its temperature in any condition of?climate. For more information on X-Fit Athletic Wear visit their online storefront.

tru-youth-apparel.png

I actually found this great clothing line from a comment left on my blog, while I was searching for a comment about Dobizo. Good thing I did I must’ve skimmed over this clothing company. My main reason for choosing this clothing company is, because I thought the website was well designed and with the small selection they offered Tru Youth Apparel?has been featured in quite a few magazines including: Vapors, BPM, and Vapors…all they have to do is get into my favorite magazine Complex. Also the clothing line has been worn by a few celebrities including Ne-Yo, DJ E-man?and Chris Brown.

Tru Youth?is a lifestyle apparel?company that designs and distributes clothing that represents the ‘Tru’?purposes of life. After reading around on the site for a while I still have no clue about who founded the company or who?the designer of Tru Youth?apparel is…maybe they don’t want to be known. Other than that they offer streetwear inspired clothing in men’s and women’s by using simple, but creative graphic tees to bring across a message.?According to the site they are only available in the KarmaLoop Kazbahor?the website?hasn’t been updated in awhile.?For more info on Tru Youth Apparel visit their website.

carpe-denim-logo.png

I had to write about Carpe Denim, because they were one of the first companies I made contact with when attending AIU in Atlanta, Ga. We use to have seminars where young designer entrepreneurs would come and talk about entrepreneurship and business amongst other related topics in the fashion industry. I remember after the seminar was over talking to them about the fashion industry and what kind of internships they had opened. Of course I applied, but didn’t receive the internship, because the other guy was a better graphic designer… a great graphic designer and at the time I had very limited experience in graphic design. Since then I would have to say I have came a long way an d so has Carpe Denim with their current offering.

After looking at there online destination it is not clear to me if they have a current offerings for Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter 2007 or if they just have two seasons that they produce each year. So far the brand reminds me of Abercrombie & Fitch with the school/surf look with a more stylish look with some garments. As of now they have expanded to offer men’s & women clothing including polos, shorts, and denim.

Sisley a clothing line created in Paris year 1968 has created a lot of buzz and publicity for there clothing line due to a recent advertisement, which features two women snorting blow coke?a dress off of a table. Sisley produces men and women clothing?including sporty casual wear and formal and?elegant dresses.?Guess their clothes are equivalent to an addiction. Now I’m all for creating publicity and coming up with catchy ideas for promoting a product, but where do you draw the line? Take a look at the advertisement below titled Fashioin Junkie:

sisley-clothing-line-fashion-junkie-ad.jpg

Another interesting fact is that the girl on the right is Elvis Pressley’s granddaughter. As you can see there is no actual drug images being shown, but it is clear what they are giving a hint at, but is it a valid attempt at advertisement or are they going too far?

creative-recreation-logo.png

Many of you might be familiar with Cre8tive Recreation footwear company and if not let me introduce you. Creative Recreation was founded in Orange County, California in 2002 by three partners who felt like there was a void in the footwear industry, being there were sneaker companies and dress shoes, but either were for two separate functions and both lacked what the other contained.

Creative Recreation has enjoyed great media exposure since their launch in 2002 and if you name a magazine most likely they’ve been mentioned including everyone from online magazine Hypebeast to Complex. For good reason too their designs are like no other footwear company to the point where you can’t classify them as an athletic sneaker company or a dress shoe provider and the founders like that title because it gives there creativity no boundary. How do I know that? Take a look at the Creative Recreation online destination.

I wouldn’t have found out about the publicity stunt that Attus Apparel pulled to garner press and create buzz for there online store without an email from a longtime reader…thanks. So far they have been generating views on YouTube and picked up by NyTimes….they need to pick up Dobizo. They have been selling there bullet riddled men’s collar shirts through their online store from $40 for the 40 ounce embroidered logo t-shirt to $100 for the shotgun distressed. Needless to say the gimmick worked…if you can call it that, because they actually sell the shirts now which began as a way to promote their website.

Attus Apparel is a Lexington, Kentucky based clothing company that launched there online website in March and received less traffic than they expected. That’s when they went about creating the shirts so that they could use footage from the shootout… :) to place a video on the Attus Apparel website and on Youtube.

Konsept sneaker

Konsept Sneakers is ran by three entrepreneurs Natalie Eugene (Owner/Head of design), Nate Hill (Co-Owner), and Brice Kennedy (Chief Designer). Konsept started out as well a concept. Noticing that most of the popular sneaker lines only claim to fame are consumers lining up for hours to purchase limited edition shoes at ridiculous prices (A Bathing Ape). You won’t get that over at Konsept Shoes at least from the looks of it their shoes are of good quality and creative designs (Hopefully they will send me a pair to check out :) ). The consept behind Konsept shoes is that they are a limited release sneaker company, (no more than 500 per color/style) but prices will stay under the $100 mark, which isn’t bad at all being that prices right now are $65. Make sure and check out the site for more information and possibly purchasing you a pair of Konsept sneakers.
