I was reading a site I was thinking about adding to the industry page and came across an interesting definition that is dealing with consumer trends and how they shop.

It is just important to know where and how your customers shop, because they are your target market. If you are selling to any store for the sake of a sell….well I already wrote many articles on it ;) .

Larger clothing businesses spend thousands per month on tracking consumer behavior and trends to increase the sell through of their brand by putting it in the right place, right people, and at the right time that=profits for the big boys. Without technology to track demographics and other consumer trends none of the above would be possible.

Cross Channel Shoppers refers to the new breed of shoppers who research a product or specific brand online, but would rather go out and purchase it from a retail store.

Statistics show that 38% of total retail sales will be a direct result of cross channel shoppers in the next five years.

Where can you get in on the action and capture these shoppers?is by simply having an online presence…a website. That is exactly why it is now more important than ever to have an online experience for your customers as well as offline.

75% of all automobiles sold in the United States this year have all been impacted by the buyers doing research online prior to physically going to the dealership to complete the transaction.
    This will probably rise too.

Cross channel shoppers uh . Sounds like a group of busy people who have no time to casually shop and want to get right down to the point of buying.

Might be an idea to capture them somehow while at their site thru rebate incentives ? I dunno, you tell me.

Makes sense to me Thom… if you can capture them online you will make more money by cutting out the middle man (Retailers)

well the problem with online shopping is that you can find the clothes that you want, but you really have no idea how its gonna fit or feel. now if the customer was able to go to your site find the product they wanted while they were at work behind their desk. click on a link that has the product nearest to the customer and have real time inventory. and if the item is out when it is aprox date for the new shippment.
