If you’ve ever wore a track jacket, a pair of jeans, or lingerie than you have seen it before, because they all have a form of a trim and notion. Trim is describing the piping on a track jackets sleeves or the buttons on your jeans or lace on lingerie. Including narrow fabrics, elastic, tape, ribbon, some embroidery and cording. Before the industrial revolution most forms of trims were handmade, but most now are machine woven or produced

Many young designer entrepreneurs do not think about the importance of choosing trims and notions for their garments. Most go with the generic offering from a trim supplier usually to keep expenses low and I totally agree with that, but if possible you should take the extra step of adding that extra attention to detail that will keep your customer excited about your product and coming back every season.
