Non Compete is the protection of trade secrets. If you have an idea for a certain garment and you source a manufacturer who agrees to help you develop the product and produce x amount and the product is an instant success. Let’s say you developed a certain pattern or design that gave it the unique look or fit, which is what makes it a must-have than other clothing companies are going to want a similar garment, but only you and your manufacturer know how to produce it. That is where the non compete agreement will come in handy, because otherwise the manufacturer can share your process to produce the garment with a 2nd or third party or can manufacture a copy of the garment under another name and directly compete with you probably offering lower prices in more styles/colors.
Non compete agreements also come into play in the employee vs employer world, because you may have worked for a competing company who produces a certain product that is only available from there facilities. Well if you ever decide to leave or get fired than you cannot work for there competition sometimes for a certain period of time or determined radius, because that could leak their trade secrets for that successful line of products to a competing business.

for an agreement like this how would U go about getting the paper work done to present to a manufacture? would U have to hire a lawyer to draw up the paperwork or are the standard agreements like this already writen up to present to them? Also whats to stop them from makeing a garment that simular to your design and selling it as there own once they have your idea and how long does this agree ment last?….and say If u want to present your designs to a big company…to set u a license agreement..how do U show them your designs and your concept with out them just taking your idea and leaving U out to dry?
