A Placket is an opening in a garment that allows a person to put it on. Plackets are usually placed at the end of a sleeve, neck opening, or crotch area (hidden placket). Some plackets are hidden by an overlaying fabric and/or stitched by a hem.

Most places where a button, zipper, clasp, snaps, hook, velcro, or any fasteners appear are usually incorporated into a placket. Plackets are used for functional reasons most often, but are sometimes used as part of a design or to add style to a garment.
