Born?in Brooklyn-New York in 1980 and first got his first educated experience in fashion through the St. Ann’s School For Arts and then later attended Parsons?School of Design in New York.?
He dropped out of school to pursue his designer career which later proved to be a great move on his behalf. At only sixteen Zac interned at the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Design Institute under the?wings of Richard Martin.?
Many of you may not be familiar with Zac Posen, but you have seen his clothing on many of celebrity starlets.
Matter of fact I wasn’t as familiar with him until I read about Sean “P.Diddy” Combs invested in Zac’s company for a 50% stake in the designers’ line in 2004…. hey! I knew then he had to be somebody…lol
For Zac Posen the sweet taste of success wasn’t long after he launched his collection in 2001 that was circulated in the best of high-fashion retailers including a joint-venture with 7 Of All Mankind denim jeans manufacturers. The limited edition jeans were so popular customers were limited to one pair per style and they were sold only at Neiman Marcus.
The Zac Posen collection is available in stores all around the world from major fashion cities like New York and Paris to the not-so-popular boutiques in Saudi Arabia.

I wonder if Posen could have attained his present position and prestige without Sean John stepping up in 2004 ?
That appears to be a very smart move by Combs. Not to mention an amazing eye for talent and potential. I wonder if any design talent from Posen’s label goes over to spend a few hours a week at Sean John ?
Fred, I think you need to call Mr. Combs for an CEO audio interview. I think you would be well received as result of what this site means to up and coming brands and I think ” Sean John” would love to have a direct audience with so many aspiring new designers. What do you think?

You don’t think Enterprise Sean John people don’t surf this site ? Or other influential designers ? Of course they do. As this site seems to have an urban flavor, you can bet many people in established clothing companies of all types, glean your site on a daily or weekly basis.

Incredible the talent that is manifested in the apparel industry. It’s great to see younger designers becoming very popular, famous and hip early in their careers. Designers are not waiting around for a mentor nor for a door to open but bust their own. It motivates me to see a younger generation of risk takers that take life by the horns.
