Akon Launches Two Clothing Lines Konvict and Aliaune

Senegal native Akon (singer/producer/label owner) launched two clothing lines this past February that will be available worldwide soon enough. One named Aliaune after his birth name Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Locku Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam (Yes that is his whole name) and the other after his record label Konvict Clothing. Konvict clothes which includes the usual sports wear staples jeans, t-shirts, track jackets, and hoodies. While the other clothing line Aliaune the higher end line will include blazer dress shirts with high quality denim from richly woven cottons and fabric from his home continent.
Seen some of the pieces and have to say it is not half bad, but for now I don’t have any pictures.

Wow, another “musician” launches a clothing brand. No wait, two clothing lines. I wonder if it will be any different from the thousands of other urban hip hop brands.
And I would love to see his Senegalese fabrics, if he indeed uses any.

Akon is everywhere right now. I hope he got a good advance on those lines, because nobody is going to buy them.
