Apparel Imports Decrease In September

Apparel imports for the US showed a 2% percent decrease in September compared to the same time one year ago. I think this definitely is affected by the weakening US dollar and it now having less buying power for goods abroad as compared to just a year ago considering China and Vietnam showed double digit increases in the same period.
You have to add in the fact that China has been criticized and monitored for everything coming out of the country due to the hazardous chemicals being found in its toys, clothing and other manufactured products. (Read more about China Hazardous here)

Pretty much major U.S. corporations that manufacture goods in the states, and DON’T import goods, are the real reason that the dollar has been made weak. Their businesses do a lot better with a weaker dollar and your savings, investments, and general consumer buying power becomes weaker with the dollar’s international value.
