The Soft Touch process transfers wet ink from a pad printer to the garment. The result is a label with more durability and can stretch without cracking. Below:

Diversified Soft Touch material cost for a pad printed label is less than $0.005 per square inch of ink (a typical label is about 1 square inch of ink).
From the site:
“There are practically no inventory costs with a pad printed label, and you can change your image at any time. Our printer is capable of fine detail printing. You can print as small as a 4pt. font that will be legible. “
Diversified Printing is part of a global network. Meaning no matter where your company is located they can provide you with this innovative equipment, service and supplies.
Independent testing shows that the labels can stand up to 50 washes and customers enjoy the look and feel more than screen printed or heat transferred label.

this sound like a good (and cheap) way to get your labels printed. I was wondering, if they can use this technique for labels, how about for the actual shirt graphics. maybe that could work out. good article

I would really like to see how this new label system can stand up to 50 washes. Independant testing by whom ?
I remain skeptical of this claim as I know a company or two who have evaluated this system and they say this is simply not true. More convenient, versatile, yes . But what good does this do if the image washes off or starts to deteriorate after 4 washes ? Whoops, maybe 6 washes .
