Google Starts A Clothing Company

I received an email from a close source at a large clothing manufacturer and investor company. Talk is that Google is planning to release a clothing company licensed through them. No not some rinky dink shirts with sayings like “Google is my life” or “Google Me” or like the image above “I love Google”, but a full-blown clothing company everything from knits to leathers. Plans are that it will be released too select stores nationwide and will be affordable to the everyday consumer, being that most pieces in it will retail fro under a $100 including jeans, jackets, and sweaters. Leave it up to google too put the clothing industry back where it needs to be. Hopefully later I can confirm this rumor. I can’t imagine what their clothing line would look like… or how this would relate to any of the things they’re already doing.

Hey…I can’t imagine either lol…but it seems these days everyone is trying their hand at the clothing industry…I’m not even sure if it will be called google or if it is jus a licensed brand or what…hopefully I will find out more soon..probably won’t post it though..just thought it was pretty funny google starting a clothing company.

To Rangga:That’s what I was speaking of when I said “rinky dink” the link you posted hardly classifies as a full blown clothing company…c’mon now…lol. That’s just like some company wear….but I didn’t know about that exact link though so thinks

Joe, I think the term we are looking for is branding. thats what is happening here. You hear about ASI. The promotional products org that consists of just about anyone making an imprintable. Anything.
At one point, a T-shirt was rated # 1 bang for the buck, followed by a ball cap. You put in on everything your awareness level increases/ MicroSoft., Nike, Coca Cola, Virgin , Honda to name a few . Starting to get the picture now.
Put in on high end goods, perceived brand value is higher. Put it on a cheap import cap, perceived brand value not so high.
It not about entering the clothing biz. it is way above that. Google are going into heavy seas and need awareness levels high to justify the fees they charge etc…etc.. Pretty basic stuff guys. I am surprised they didn’t enter earlier.
Multi billion dollar company with untold potential trying to make a buck selling clothes. Right. Sure
