Karmaloop Kazbah can put your indie brand in front of thousands

One of the first readers of my blog sent me an email that they were accepted into the Karmaloop Kazbah program. Which is a online storefront for small or indie clothing brands that are unique and creative, but don’t have the muscle of the larger brands. Kind of like Digital Gravel just without the street wear tag. Anyway Village Hill Cut & Sew has been accepted into the program and wanted me to let you guys know about it and I wish them the best of luck. Kazbah is a great outlet for your brand to display your clothing. Just make sure you come correct, because since its launch they have added some stiff competition.
If you think your brand has what it takes and would like to put your clothing brand in front of thousands, then submit your brand for a review. Let me know how it goes and I will write about it here on Dobizo.

Nice work Village Hill!
I know a lot of fashion incubators charge rent for the store space, and the Kazbah is no different. I’d be interested to know what their rates are like.

Actually they don’t from what I understand. Because you actually handle all the shipping and handling yourself…they just put you in front of thousands. That’s is why it is such strict requirements to be accepted they want well ran indie brands with something different to offer.

yes they do charge you.they ask for 40 $ a month or something like that ………………i looked them up

In exchange for the right to showcase and sell their product on the Karmaloop Kazbah, Vendors will pay Karmaloop the following fees:
? A monthly ?stall rental? fee of $30.00; and
? A commission fee equal to 35% of the sales of the Vendor?s goods.

I heard about them a while ago when I looked into CafePress, Spreadshirt, and how to market tees. I knew immediately what you were talking about when I saw your post. I had checked them out before, but I knew that if you want to submit your ish to them it HAS to be HOT….and I don’t think we are there yet.

Wow, $30 isn’t bad at all!
The commission fee strikes me as interesting. With a lot of retailers marking up 2.2 or 2.8 times, does their commission mean they’d be only taking a 35% cut?! Those are better margins than you’ll see anywhere!

I like that the Kazbah has Gym Class Heroes as models for them.

This is good stuff. I would like to know about the commisions, like James said if they are taking a “true” 35% cut, then it is a good deal. What would also have to be factored in is the monthly cost versus the number of units you move.
