Prices on retail men and women’s wear fell last month and also saw a decline from the same time a year ago.
Retail prices on men’s apparel fell by a seasonally adjusted 0.3 % from last month and 1.2 percent from a year ago in August. Women’s apparel saw a similar decline last month of 0.4% and 2.8% from a year earlier.
Yeah this is great news for consumer and bad for clothing manufacturers…considering I’m both I don’t know how to call it.
What do you guys think is the cause of prices dropping at the retail level?

I’m pretty sure it’s because this is the time of the year where the companies are trying to get rid of the summer clothes i preparation for winter. Many stores are beginning to have big sales around this time. At the beggining of summer next years I think the prices will come right back up, even higher than they were before.
