Overall retail prices on men’s apparel dropped in January by .3 percent, might not seem like big news but it’s very important when setting profit margins for your clothing company (If overall market prices drop I would assume the retailer like lower wholesale prices too meet their profit margin). Within the category of shirts and sweaters prices were down 1.2 percent and pants/shorts were up .3 percent. Even though prices were down in some categories the prices consumers paid overall were up a measly 0.2 percent for the month.
