Politeed is a newly launched t-shirt business out of Richardson, Texas and has made ever news or media outlet within the Apparel Industry I debated on it and decided that I didn’t want to be left out :) .

There t-shirt are making noise not because they use a new one of a kind fabric or because they have (insert name of celebrity) wearing it all on television making headlines, but because they harness the power of word of mouth mixed with a little bit of shock and awe. Don’t take this post as another fashion news brief, but a lesson in marketing and how you can create opportunity and exposure for your brand for the hefty price of FREE.

Most of there shirts are designed around building social awareness and current events going on in America…nothing much more to them. Simple text prints with a loud statement. I can imagine they will be featured on every major news station in the coming months and creating major traffic=sales for their online store.

We definitely take a lesson from this clothing line and how quick they have built brand awareness in such a short amount of time, but you don’t necessarily have to follow in their footsteps. I can see this brand passing quick and not really building a sustainable business off of outspoken controversial shirts, because every marketing trick only works for so long then the shock and awe dies out.

Take a look at some of the shirts below:

Notice how everyone looks so happy wearing their shirts. I wonder how some of the opposing public would react to somebody or myself wearing one of these shirts in general public…it could get ugly. They should come with a warning hangtag before they get sued by someone being attacked.
