The Quebec government has announced that they will be injecting $82 million into the Quebec fashion industry so that fashion designers and apparel manufacturers can compete in the global business side of the industry. This is a good look for the Quebec fashion industry considering it has been struggling with a drop in employment over the years.

The government announced this investment during the Montreal Fashion Week launch, which was Tuesday.

The investment will be distributed as described below: $3 million will go to promoting Montreal as a fashion center for Quebec, $8.7 million for employee training, $15 million for the export market and its development, and another $15 million to support apparel businesses who have plans to expand and sell on a global scale, an additional $40 million to update technology within th fashion segment.
