Founded by Jay-Z the rapper/mogul who has branded the Rocawear clothing line into a urban lifestyle that seems to have been worn by every inner city youth surpassed all other urban men’s clothing lines retail sales in the year of 2006. Although rival clothing lines Sean John ($150 million) and G-unit ($55 million) continued to pull in upward of six figures a piece Rocawear still held the top spot in sales for year of 2006. Surprisingly enough considering the downward spiral of the company in recent months (Maybe why Jay-z and partners sold for $204 million recently) and by the end of this year unless they reposition their brand I don’t expect to see them on top of their competition.
