This post is kind of a fashion fact/fashion news, because I have a little bit of both about this company. If your not familiar with the Algierz clothing brand let me give you a little rundown. The brand was founded by Dan Algierz and debuted in 2005. He pretty much attends all trade shows himself and is his on sales rep. (Met him on a couple of occasions) As of now the clothing line is sold in hundreds of stores worldwide. The clothing line itself is really not my style and the some of the images seem rather repetitive of other “hood” clothing lines with a humorous twist on them. Now to the news they opened their first retail store front in houston, Texas toward the end of December, not bad for a little less than three years in business.

The funny thing about this designer is that he actually attempted to be an actor. Before starting Algierz clothing he moved out to Los angeles, but when things didn’t go as planned he sold his car in order produce the first batch of t-shirts. (I will add that method to the financing section ). Once the shirts caught on in his hometown he borrowed his parents car and drove around the country selling shirts. So far the shirts have a heavy following in the south, but only time will tell if their clothing line will see longevity. When I wrote the article on One Hit Wonders I was going to add them, but decided against it.
