Many of these tourist are getting double the value off of our weak dollar and are definitely enjoying it. The current boost in retail traffic to US retailers is due to the fact of the crumbling value of the American dollar and clothing retailers are feeling the rise in shoppers and their liking it. It doesn’t matter where the traffic comes from as long as it comes and foreigners and tourist are moving in packs toward American retailers to get double the value for their strong currency.
New York retailers are really feeling the affect of the declining value of the dollar from tourist shopping in historic district and at stores like Saks Inc. located on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
