If you remember we covered Material World earlier this year in April when they decided to close their New York edition of the textile trade show.

I guess the closing was part of their expanding into other markets that are desperately in need of their service. Urban Exposition an Atlanta trade show organizer was in the process of starting up a West Coast version of the Material World trade show possibly as soon as 2009.

They will have competition according to Apparel News. Reports say that Dallas Group have plans to open a textile show in the Los Angeles and Dallas Market Center spokesperson confirmed that there will be a textile trade show, but there is no word on rather or not it will be for the home furnishing industry or garment industry. The textile show will be somewhere in downtown Los Angeles and most likely held twice a year.
