The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Sewn Product Manufacturing:
I read this book while in college it was given to me. The book wasn?t part of our curriculum, but it should have been. This book takes you step by step on starting a sewn product line. Might not be the best book for starting a street wear line, but it gives you the facts when it comes to starting a sewn product line from beginning to end. It teaches you how to plan, create, and execute a product line. It brings you lessons from a more technical aspect and could be overwhelming to any ?would be? entrepreneur, but goes in depth to explain and make sure you understand the process in the end. Only downfall I seen was that it?s a real emphasis on sewn garments and doesn?t really get into other sewn products outside the garment industry and doesn?t really touch much on finding a manufacturer supplier, but does that really matter to my readers because our main focus is on How to start an apparel line from scratch and this book can help you do just that, if not more.

Dear Fred
In your article
?The Entrepreneur?s Guide to Sewn Product Manufacturing:?
You state
“Only downfall I seen was that it?s a real emphasis on sewn garments and doesn?t really get into other sewn products outside the garment industry and doesn?t really touch much on finding a manufacturer supplier”
I bought the book for the manufacturing information.
Please tell me where to find this information.
I have been working on my product for years, from writing my own patent, making my pattern, writing the business plan. I have the logo, the trademark, the domain name, the tax# (I am sure in some of these steps I have been premature ? but as I went along I did what the authors suggested I do) All these things I did TRYING to execute the garment. Donald Trump said, ? There are a lot to good Ideas, people just can?t execute them.? Oh! How I see the truth in that statement. Spending months e-mailing, on the internet., faxing, compiling list. I have learned a lot, but I still am in the dark.
I have located some manufacturer?s, but I am in the dark as to the reliability. How does one check on their expertise/creditability?
I know on one in the business. I have been to SCORE, SBA. No help, they have on idea either, so I buy books ?
If I need my car worked on and I see a sign on the front of a building “We fix cars” and I knew nothing of what was in the building ? It could be a chop shop.—
If I buy the wrong book I am no farther along.
Help!
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Confused
