Graphics on apparel are becoming a huge part of the industry. How do you decide what kind of graphics will sell and what won`t so you don`t waste alot of money on printing? And what type of printing is better and how are they different? Silk Screen, Sublimation or Direct to Garment Digital Printing?

Considering fashion is global, and shares a fate with many other consumer markets, what are businesses out of our industry that still serve our shared consumer market doing that we could learn from and use to build our brands?

  10. Mat Garland Says:

Your clothing business is tracking nicely in the local market but that just isn’t enough for you. You would like to expand into the global market, and as fate would have it, you’re not eligable for a government assistance export grant, you will have to finance all costs yourself. What are the best options for entering into the global market, what infrastructure would be required, and what are the risks associated with each option?

For me, the article about top 100 mistakes a clothing line makes was EXTREMELY useful. I’m sure it would be a great help to other aspiring and up and coming designers out there as well. Give it a thought…

What importance do independent retailers place on manufacturers in-store catalogue advertising and does this have any bearing upon their initial purchasing decisions?

  17. Naim Says:

I would personally contact your biggest local artist and try to get them involved as much as possible. What artust isn’t into the fashion scene at some point. The reason for this is because they will promote any product not to mention the magazine. if you can get a hold of a mainstream artist for free or low cost then go for it, but usually the local asrtist are your best bet.

  18. houserocker Says:

When will you post the results???

The fashion industry has different colors for each season. Is it a good idea to follow your own instinct and produce your garments in the color schemes you feel work best for your garments? Or would it be wise to follow the projected color forecast for the season and try to also produce a few garments in the color schemes that you like.

How can you become a successful clothing line when only the already famous are given opportunities? thsi also falls under the category how can you get someone famous to wear your clothing if in doing so it would probably take over your entire budget? i understand word of mouth may get you recognized but on the same token most people are your friends and its difficult to have them make you the “next best thing” how can you become the next best thing and how do you know if your brand is the best. of course you have people near and dear to you-so how can you make your brand the best and make it stand out.
