Let’s face it, people love getting free products. Whether it’s a sticker, a key chain, or a free sample at the food court (that you walk by sometimes even though you know you’re starving lol) people love the ability to receive free products. I bring this up because of a promotional offer that I felt like I would be a fool to pass on. The deal came by way of JCPenney and the deal was if you bought $125 worth of dockers products which are mainly known for their khakis and dress pants you would receive a free round trip ticket to either NY,LA,Chicago,Boston,Miami,Orlando and I think one more spot. Now, if I would’ve never seen this advertisement I would’ve never even thought about buying dockers product but this offer dragged me in and I actually like the quality of the dress pants and belt that I bought and on the receipt there was another offer giving a 15% off coupon for JCPenney after completing a quick 3 minute survey.

Now, I know that most of us here are just getting started in the business and can’t afford to give away promotional items as grand as this, but giving out stickers, a small 5% discount or perhaps free shipping lets the customer know that you appreciate them enough to give them extra items for purchasing from your business and when customers feel welcomed and appreciated they spend more money and become loyal, which can’t be beat. So just remember a small gift can go a very long way and can reap great rewards. Now it’s time to see how I’m going to spend this 15% off :)

That def worked for us we gave 5% off to the first 20 orders abd it was great now we have good loyal fan base that always look to buy first

The discount and free small product giveaways thing seems cool….but it all depends on the type of brand you are. Branding is extremely important and overlooked by many businesses. Certain customer satisfaction deeds can really tarnish your brands image despite the niceness of the act and gesture…..

I’m a HUGE fan of this technique, during the startup phase we didn’t have a website (we had a holding page with the logo and a registration form which promised notification of the “Official” site launch and the chance to win a free t-shirt). We were fortunate enough to collect over twelve thousand email addresses, which assisted us GREATLY when we did finally launch.
