Trade shows being the first of many to discuss?
First let?s start off with the definition of a trade show which is an exhibition organised so that companies in a specific industry can showcase and demonstrate their new products and services. In the apparel industry there are tradeshows where u setup a booth representing the aspects of your brand. Whether your brand is designer,street wear, or whatever there is a trade show for it. Tradeshows are hosted in many regions of the united states and also outside in surrounding countries. For time sake were going to review some that are held throughout the year in the United States.

(www.magiconline.com)-Tradeshow held in Las Vegas, Nevada also the most popular in the states is held bi-annually(Feb/Aug) in las vegas nevada. I wouldn?t recommend that clothing line start ups attend this show without visiting it prior too exhibiting in the show. (Standard booth cost are rather high for a startup company) Magic consist of mens apparel and accessories. Women apparel and accessories. Children apparel/accessories and various sourcing agencies (fabric/trims,technology/logistics). The Magic marketplace gives access to over 3,600 manufacturers showcasing over 5,000 brands and private label resources.

• Americas Mart (www.americasmart.com)-A mart that?s hosts an array of different tradeshows from gift and art to apparel and jewelry, but because this site is about starting a clothing line from scratch that?s the section we will cover on this mart. Their main attraction is the Alpha show which comes together four times a year with exhibitors from all over the USA it is held in Atlanta, GA. Usually in January, April, June, and October. The show is separated into three categories AXIS (Casual Street Wear), EDGE (Contemporary Attitude), PROJECT (Classic Men?s). I would prefer this show for start up apparel lines due to the low booth costs and easy setup. Most apparel lines in the show don?t spend over $2,000 for all booth fees! With hundreds of eager buyers who come to this show looking for new and innovative apparel lines. The basic booth cost as low as $630 Alpha Show is definitely a show too check out.
