As you can see by the title ASAP is one of the premier garment & textile sourcing trade shows with over 5% of the top full-package, overseas apparel manufacturers showcasing their production. There main focus is on overseas manufacturers so if your company was considering production abroad this show would be worth a visit especially with the quality of manufacturers attending the show there would seem to be less risk involved, than going with an unknown manufacturer. The ASAP trade show actually goes on around the same time as the Magic marketplace which is from August 27-30….you could kill two birds with one stone 
.
The visitor profile of the show consist of the trade which is garment manufacturers of course, importers & exporters of textile machinery & technology, textile materials, embroidery, trimmings, and laundries. The show doesn’t stop at exhibiting and buying, but also has educational seminars on U.S. Wholesale & Retail Buying Plans also opportunities of selling your brand in China & India, plus innovative financing, labeling and quality assurance.
The ASAP show will be held at the Venetian Grand Ballroom in Las Vegas, NV from August 26-29, 2007. Private meeting can be set up ahead of time for buyers and overseas apparel manufacturers, which they call ASAP Match Making Sessions. For anymore info you know where to go ASAP.

I have been to the ASAP portion of MAGIC a few times and I have to tell you that it isn’t that big a deal.
All exhibitors are offshore based, most in South East Asia or China. They are hoping to snag well known brands traipsing thru the exhibit space and most exhibitors services are not suitable for startups or new ventures.
They may say they will do 200 pieces per style, but when push comes to shove, it is not going to happen.
I know too many brands that have been screwed or let down after an ASAP show. It has a disastrous affect on a clothing companies growth to get into bed with the wrong partners. I think holding this show was another grab by the management company to sell more raw booth space.
Caveat emptor.

I would like to visit the above event as an importer of quality brand name products into Iraqi Kurdistan and I appreciate if you tell us about the exhibitors names and their products and inormation regarding the exact date & time of the trade show.

It might be good idea if you visited the website of the ASAP/MAGIC show as detailed in the article. Often the exhibitors list is made available to the public and of course they give show dates and times. Always good to check who is in attendance and who isn’t.
If they do not publish lists of exhibitors, I would be wary, and that goes for any show in the apparel industry.
