Charge Backs:
Charge backs are fees charged to the designer for not meeting certain requirements of the store. Be careful and do what you can to keep these charges to a minimum. They can add up and eat into your profit also build bad relationships with retailers. That?s why you should start small working with more mom and pop stores who don?t have strict requirements unlike department stores who usually require clothing to be shipped with specific hangers, packaging, labeling, and certain delivery standards. Product may need to be poly-bagged or ticketed for the sales floor and must include certain information. They may also require you to use a certain company for shipping?not following these guidelines can leave you with charges that could eliminate your profit or have a store not re-order from you come next season.
