Quick response is good for cutting a companies lead time so that your supply chain is more efficient in getting the product out to the end consumer in a timely manner.
Electronic communication between a production chain makes the quick response method possible. This can be applied by most any manufacturing to consumer business. Mostly used between manufacturers and retailers to communicate their inventory needs as soon as their is open stock or a need in their assembly line.
Many retail companies are now turning to the internet for real-time solutions where a buyer can see a manufacturers new collection, select there pieces, place an order, and replenish their stock in a matter of minutes as compared to having to call and exchange emails or wait on trade shows. Anyone that can access the system is notified across the supply chain network. Basically quick response or qr gets the product from point A-Z in the quickest way possible without mistakes or interruptions satisfying consumer supply & demand.

Very good summary. Also a pretty good template to follow. And more amd more buyers are using the Internet to streamline their operations .
What i find interesting is the role that RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) will play in the apparel business in the next few years. I understand each garment can have a chip embedded into a label or hangtag. This makes for some interesting possibilities.
