I found this article from someone visiting my blog and thought it was a very short and to the point article on selling your fashions to an overseas buyer. It is from Thread, which is a New Zealand fashion-culture magazine and online store.
Some of the key points in the article are:
- The markup of clothing overseas compared to domestic retail stores
- Being prepared once you make contact with the buyer
- Building relationships
- Know what your clothing will be placed alongside in their store
- Exclusivity or just selling to one store in a geographic area
- Speak with the buyers, but know what you’re talking about
Overall it is just a quick rundown on approaching buyers overseas and how to deal with store accounts abroad. Either way I think it is worth a quick scan and see what value you can get from it.
