I think that the new RocaWear Lifestyle site is definitely a great move by Iconix Brand which acquired the brand earlier this year for $204 million in cash.

This move is definitely going to help the branding aspect and helping RocaWear get back in touch with the consumer, which in my opinion they were losing. Sales for the brand were on the downfall up until earlier this year. Also with the acquisition and them being absorbed by a larger apparel company most brands that pride themselves on their connection with the customer base usually lose ground.

The lifestyle site is an online community for anyone interested in the brand and the founders behind it, which include Jay-Z and all his business efforts and rap superstar Kanye West in addition to the RocaWear online shop.

The site looks appealing, an a bit informative but personally I was never a fan of Rocawear, and it seems like a lot of these companies try to take on so much. A little off track but. . . Time after time you always here people say I’m gona release this clothing line, then Im gona do a line for that , and that too. But it all goes back to the reason of why the idea started in the first place. Right now, for the youth/teen market theres a lot of companies out there already so who knows how much there efforts will pay off. Their design seems so consistent and bland.
