Considering most clothing companies start out producing t-shirts. I thought I would compile a short list of online resources where you could create custom t-shirts and sell them in a matter of hours.
Alright, lets say that you have your amazing designs from Photoshop that are ready to be printed onto clothing, but where should you start. Should you look into going straight to a screen printing company or is it best to buy a machine for yourself? This article will show you a few websites that you can register for, post your designs, and sell your clothing fast!
The first website that is quite popular in printing clothing is Cafepress.com. Not only can you print t-shirts, but also hoodies, tank-tops, v-necks, hats, mugs, cards, mouse pads and more. This is basically the one stop shop if you need everything. Cafepress is a well established company who is reputable and trusting. The only negative I see at this site is that some items can get expensive, decreasing your profit.
Second, GoodStorm.com is a newer website out there who’s main marketing tool is quality, colorful t-shirts without the high-costs. Clothing starts at $5.95 which is perfect for a low budget business. GoodStorm lacks in features when placing designs on clothes but with the low base price that they offer, I’ll accept that. You can customize your stores profile and attract more users with its Promotional Tools and the T-Shirt Templates help you with placing your design on any shirt. Customer service is exceptional here, returning my emails in only a few hours each time. Only negative here is that t-shirts are the only product available for print.
Third, SpreadShirt.com is a bit cheaper to create products than Cafepress but also has many items to offer such as hoodies, shirts, umbrellas, socks, thongs, and gym shorts. Creating products is very simple and the site has a slick interface. A negative is that I can’t find a way here to change the currency to dollars, maybe those computer science classes were a waste of money…
Lastly, Printfection.com is a website I just happened to stumble on who’s base price is a reasonable $13 for most clothing items. You can design anything from mousepads to to hoodies to cutting boards. The interface to place designs on items is easy so anyone can use it. Customer service is another plus here because they answer their phones and emails in a timely fashion. Each clothing item is offered in a vast number of colors to help suite their customers and have clothing sizes up to 5XL. Negative? They don’t have zipped sweatshirts which are quite popular.
Hope this helped you guys. If you have any other sites that you found, post them in the comment section so we can all check them out. See you next time!

Your link to spreadshirt.com is the GB site. just typing in spreadshirt.com into your address bar should bring you to the US site.

Thanks for the mention of Spreadshirt!
Regarding the negative, there’s a solution…
http://www.spreadshirt.net is for Europe, and thus no $$.
http://www.spreadshirt.com is for the US and Canada, and thus US$ and CAD$ are supported.
So, there is another pro to Spreadshirt… global distribution of your great ideas.
Best regards,
Jana

Try Skreened at http://www.skreened.com — it is all American Apparel and locally run by a small business guy with a big heart. I’ve had a good experience with him and Skreened. Always prompt payment and shipment, and the shirts aren’t made in a sweatshop.
