Continuing from Part 1 Where and How to make money selling your clothing brand.
Cafepress-You can design your own t-shirts and setup your own store for free. Wouldn’t really call it your own clothing line, but everybody has to start somewhere…right?
Zazzle-You can design and have zazzle.com print your product in less than 24 hours. Everything from hats, buttons, to t-shirts.
Spreadshirt-Build an online storefront and sell custom t-shirts or have custom items print and sent to your door step in 24 hours.
Designashirt.com-Designashirt.com reminds you of Zazzle.com, but they use their own system that was developed in-house, which you may purchase through Shirt Software.
Store Events-This is a great way to get your name out and sell a few shirts in the start-up phase of your clothing company. For some of my long time readers you will remember the article I wrote on sales tactics and free promotion. Also good to ignite your consumer’s interest in your brand by making in-store appearances at their favorite retail shops.
Flea Markets-This can be an option if your trying to get rid of last years styles or defects. At the beginning stages you want have enough waste to sell to mass retailers or discount stores like TJ Maxx, Burlington Coat Factory, or Rugged Wearhouse.
Door to Door- Make a list of some of your favorite stores and decide which ones represent the customer your targeting with your brand. Don’t just run up in the store looking for the buyer set an appointment by phone and follow some of the steps from this article I wrote on getting in contact with store buyers , than you should be on your way.
Any other ways you guys have gone about selling your line…maybe through a myspace page or any other companies out on the web that are like cafepress, or zazzle. Let me know.
