Out of all the types of businesses in the world you decided to start a clothing line…Good luck. Everyday men & women decide to take the plunge into entrepreneurship without no set goals or business plans, but what we all have is some sort of motivation or reason.

What is your reason or motivation? Whatever it is whether, because of money, financial freedom, quit your day job, or just the pure satisfaction of building a business empire. You have to protect it and let that one factor (your motivation) be the reason you keep it moving, while over coming all the obstacles that WILL be in your path to a successful business.

Your motivation is part of the reason your in business so you must incorporate it into your business plan let us just say indirectly. Your business plan will be the path that will guide you to your goals and your goals are extensions of your motivation. If you start your clothing business to make money than that is your motivation. You should set goals directly related to money by setting where you want to be profit wise in let’s say 2-3yrs or less. Basically what I’m saying without your motivation what are you working toward, you can’t set any goals, and without your goals where is or would your business go? Most likely nowhere.

What are some of you guy motivation or reason for starting a clothing line? Raise money, Become an entrepreneur, Quit the hustle of the 9-5 job! or what? Let me know…don’t be shy ;)

I want my lifestyle and what I do for a living to be closely intertwined, realising that dream of being paid to do what you love.

I love all facets of pop and sub cultures, fashion, art, music, film… and I want my participation in media and society to serve as inspiration for my creative direction, turning everything from going to a concert to having a drink with friends into apart of my creative process.

That’s my goal; if I can pull it off is still up in the air ;)

I suggest everybody see or read the book, “The secret”. If you don’t totally succeed in whatever your doing after that movie. I don’t know what to say.

hey sports fans, Well this is easy question with many, many, many answers. If I had to narrow it down I would say without a doubt, I am a independent spirit who happens to be a artist. A brief history of me goes like this, I have done some form of art since my earliest memory, from oil paintings to airbrush, from furniture to murals. About 8 years ago i decided to try fashion, prior to that I did’nt think of fashion as art, boy was I wrong. YOU LIVE AND LEARN, anyhow, although I’m very successful at what I do professionally my main reason for being is to express myself artistically, also I absolutely hate working for others, It can be comfortable but I have allways been my own person, independence is the way to go. DEFINE YOUR OWN EXISTENCE. GYEBAGS.COM JANN, PEACE!

Fred, you said it in your post above: “while over coming all the obstacles”.

My motivation for starting my line was to bring that message to the world. If I happen to make a good living from it, then that’s a great by-product.

But I was raised to believe that whatever I wanted to accomplish in life, I could certainly achieve it. I think there is too much negativity permeating in today’s society, and I want to bring a positive message to others that sometimes things don’t go your way. Sometimes life gets hard, but if you work hard you can overcome the obstacles.

I figured clothing was the perfect vehicle for the message. So, now I fill my day coming up with designs that reflect my core message and values so that I can inspire others to greatness.

I want to start my own clothing line because I want to exercise my creativity, engulf my life with something I love to do, and make money doing it. I want to manage my own time, and have fun doing it. I want to start something small and grow it into something grand and successful.
