Serious about starting a clothing line? If so subscribe to our RSS feed or Email notifications for exclusive articles/updates that you don't want to miss!
This is a rundown of what should be included in a Line Sheet we spoke on this earlier in the blog, but for our new readers who might have missed the first edition and what I’ve learned since that time we’re going to give you the ingredients for an informative line sheet.
What should your line sheet include:
- Terms of sales accepted (COD, cash and carry, Net…etc)
- Delivery dates for the season at hand (What is the cutoff for orders to be placed and when will they be delivered)
- Wholesale and suggested retail prices (Self explanatory)
- Sizes ranges
- Colors and fabrication- Different color assortments and fabric content
- Clothing origin- Where the clothing was manufactured
- Short description of clothing styles
- Sketch or photograph (Most use sketches)
- Minimum orders- Minimum for each style
- Style name or numbers (Preferably numbers in my opinion)
- Company name and information
This list is in no particular order, and the above will make for a very detailed line sheet, but not all will be included in everyones line sheet. Really depends on the depth of your clothing line and what you offer. For example if you just offered t-shirts the fabric content wouldn’t be of that much significance, unless you used a special cotton (Pima or 100% cotton).
Anyone care to share a picture of your line sheet or discuss what you include on your line sheets?
