According to Daily News Record online:

NEW YORK (January 8, 2007) - Hip-hop label Akademiks is for sale, the company?s chief operating officer confirmed last week. Dan Raskin, COO of Akademiks? parent company, Kemistre8, told DNR through a spokesperson that Kemistre8 management ?is in discussions with several potential buyers to sell Akademiks.? He provided no further comment. LEE BAILEY

I?m not surprised seeing as there market share in the hip hop arena has definitely declined over the past few years and it?s either sale now or go down in flames later. I think it?s a smart move maybe a buyer can pump some life back into the once dominant ?urban? brand.
